I was thinking of the old wives tale that men had one fewer rib than women because of Adam and Eve, much like the tale about a mans 'Adams Apple'......

DOH!!

I've moved the deep and meaningful celery discussion to the coffee shop, just to preserve the integrity of this thread. Icon_hugginsmileys_753

There's nothing particularly special about God using a rib from Adam to make Eve - except that Eve, therefore, was not separately created. All her DNA came from Adam. Therefore Adam was the representative of the entire human race. This is important. If Eve were separately created, then Adam would not have represented her, therefore Jesus, the Last Adam, would not have represented women. As it is, Jesus represented the entire human race on the cross, because He is related to us all. Only a relative can be a Redeemer - as we read in the book of Ruth.

Interesting thoughts.

If Adam has a belly button then creation and evolution are both correct and not exclusive.
