among weeds there comes up some lovely flowers or you could say among the flowers comes up some weeds, thats how i feel about the God channels.
I liked to look at 'Love worth finding' with Adrian Rodgers, he spoke and lifted me up many times. He was a man who loved his Lord.
are there any that any of you like?

Christian TV channels - uhmmm. To be honest Anne it makes me upset and I don't tune in nowadays at all. Using your analogy of the weeds/flowers I feel its more a case of the rare flower among mostly weeds.
However as you were asking if there were any good programmes on I thought I would scan through the listing for the next couple of days and have a look. Here is what I found (my opinion);
God 0
God UK 0
Wonderful 0
TBN Europe 0
Daystar 0
Revelation 0
UCB TV 1
Inspiration 0
Loveworld TV 0
EWTN 0
Gospel channel 0
Dove Vision TV 0
As you can see I didn't spot anything I felt was really good, except one programme on one channel - Ray Comfort's "The Way of the Master". David Pawson's old teaching series is good on the God channel, but they seem to have their "missions week" beg-a-thon at the moment instead of normal programming.
There were names of ministries that must be fairly new as I didn't recognise them, and I may have missed a couple of good things by scanning quickly. But of the ones I did recognise there were many I would steer completely clear of - Benny Hinn is on most of the channels, Peter Popoff on two, Gilbert Deya on two (what happened about his alleged child trafficking scandal?), Peniel, Morris Cerullo......
However Calvary Chapel radio is on Sky TV channel 0156 and has some good speakers. :)
I wish I could be more positive I'm afraid. Some of the repeats of Revelation interviews (the ones with David Noakes, Ken Ham, Tony Pearce, David Dolan, John MacKay, Chris Hill) would be worth seeing again, but they don't list who is on, or who the live guests will be on their World in Focus live interviews, so I never tune in. I have missed a few good guests recently because of that. If anyone does hear that a good guest will be on, please can you post us a reminder. |

| I like Charles Stanley and i liked the book by book series with anne graham lotz and i like james Mc connell from Ireland i seem always to find them quite uplifting at times. Pawsons teaching on the tsunami was excellant, there are little snippets that can encourage i feel we need more encouragement more bible teaching back to the basics book by book |

| I like James McConnell very much, he seems to empty himself to the point of hoarseness every sermon. |

It's unfortunate that RTVs website is so out of date. It used to be possible to look on there for a guest list.
Occasionally Paul has been a guest, so we can keep informed on that front.
Tonights guest was (imo) not really worth watching. Same old same old  blah, blah :( :? (a WofF man and side kick)
I don't watch christian TV much at all anymore, and only occasionally listen to radio.
I will take a look at the GTV rob-a-thon though. I like to keep abreast of what the lastest scam is, just to warn others.
With love in Christ,
Elaine. |

Isn't it sad when so many of us feel like Elaine about "Christian TV" :(
There are so many charlatans on these channels that most of us seem to have nothing to do with them. I have not watched any of the "Christian TV" channels for months. Occasionally I have a look at the listings but when all you have is the same old same old send us money and you will get something from God then I for one will have nothing to do with it.
The TV stations have been taken over by ministries that have money and therefore pull the strings. There are channels that are showing ministries that are basically cults but because they pay they get airtime.
I am also embarrassed by Christian TV  |

I tuned into Godtv this morning, and Matthew Ashimolovo was preaching, he said (don't remember the exact words, but it was roughly)
| Quote: | | **God is not moved by needs, but by seeds** |
It made me unutterably sad and angry to think of the people who may have been watching, desperate for a touch from God, who may have come away thinking He was only going to hear their cry and be moved to help if they had the financial wherewithal.
This is not God, surely?
If it is, then I really don't think I do know Him  |

This is not God Talitha.
The trouble is the people in places like that think that this is God and if you try and talk to them about what God really wants you often get an angry response. I live not to far from KICC and I know a few people who go there. I also know people who go to other churches like it and they think that one day they will get me to realise that I am wrong.
This is the reason I will not watch so called Christian tv as it is full of this kind of preaching (WOF). |

| I have never watched Christian TV and have no access to it, except for having seen excerpts of some Christian TV channels on other programmes. If it is anything like Premier Radio it will be a mixed bag and you will have to sift through it. I don't suppose it's all WOF. |

I might not all be WOF but the trouble is that WOF preachers are the ones with the money and the inclination to want to be on tv. The rest of us would rather see our money going to be used for people.
I know that some people will say what better use than to send out God's word but ask yourself this question would a non believer watch Christian tv? |

I am unhappy with any preacher who "earns" a fortune for himself.
I knew personally an evangelist who said that if he spent six months in the States he then did not need to work for the next six months.
He was still doing preaching until fairly recently with the attendant publicity to make sure he made money. _________________ The effectiveness of a posting is inversely proportional to its length.

What I'd like to know is how many conversion experiences are had over the airwaves.
I doubt that the number is zero, but I must confess that I'm sceptical that it could be much higher than that.
