For me this is a very important topic.

I spent 10 years as a Jehovahs witness knocking on `your` doors. When i was set free by the grace of God i spent 12 years teaching and encouraging christians how to effectivly share the gospel with witnesses when they call on you.

As a witness i met many christians but sadly they were reluctant,or unable to share thier faith. I know its not easy for some and we are all different. But if we are saved then we have a testimony of the grace of God in our hearts.

Its amazing what a smile...a listening ear (not too long) and a simple word of testimony can do. Dont argue or debate. Jws are trained to overcome any objections you come up with. Remember we are to `sow seeds`,we dont always see the results.

If a JW wnts to discuss further only do so if you are capable of defending your faith. There are some excellent materials available,Maria has posted a good site. ROT can also be of help.

I have met many ex-Jws who are now saved as a result of someone showing them kindness and sharing the true gospel with them.

I always greet them courteously, & listen to their opening question. I may agree, about the state of the world, or the churches, but direct the conversation to Christ in the Scriptures.

Long time no see. I've been expecting a return call from Eunice & Diane since August last year.

I had a remarkable experiance some years ago.
We had been on holiday and although I knew I had to take a service on my return I hadn't prepared very thourghly.
As we were starting an Alpha course soon I decided to do a sort of publicity talk about Alpha.

The service was in the lounge of a sheltered housing building.
When we arrived there were four smartly dressed men in the congregation, obviously Mormons.

The talk was "Who is Jesus. Why did Jesus die, etc"

The last hymn included "words that Thou give me must prevail"
When I got home I remembered that His word does not return void but achieves what He wants.

The amazing thing is that they had been invited by a coloured woman called Carol (I think). We do not know who it was, we do not have a woman of that name. Perhaps an angel, I just do not know.

Watch out for the purpose driven mischief from a pulpit near you.We need to love and witness to the cultists who may knock on our doors or stop us in the street.They need to hear solid salvation stories from our lips,followed up by red hot prayer.Purpose driven will dilute all this, so be on the alert...please!!

A Portuguese Christian lady I know asked a visiting JW man a question

'If you die today where you go'?

This was enough to get him thinking and eventually he left the JWS.

I asked it because I know (from several of her posts) that maria used to be a JW and she has also said that one of her aims is to try and help other former JWs. I think Eddie might also have been a JW but I'm not totally sure. I consider it to be highly unlikely that former Witnesses (or wobbling ones) would stumble across this particular forum when ones such as Reach Out Trust which (as far as I understand it) are more openly into offering Christian guidance to those who are recovering from their involvement in cults. Consequently I wasn't sure for whose benefit maria had posted the links. Any problem I have with you maria is entirely in your own imagination. I may comment on your posts from time to time but that's because you've said something worthy of a response.
