Bobby I have posted a thread for insomniacs in the coffee shop, and appologise for highjacking the Harry Potter thread.
I have a question how close are the films to the books? I have only seen the films and not read any of the books so I wondered. After all there are some books I have read and then seen the film and it was nothing like the book.

I think were you to read the books you would recognise all of the films and then lots that the films left out.

It is impossible to compact books of that length into a film of a couple of hours duration. But what is in the films portrays quite well the chapters of the books IMO.

Alastair MacLean books and films are not the same in a large number of details.

Pullman is an atheist yes. I believe he referred to Chrsitianity as a 'life destroying' religion, or something along those lines.

I wonder if Harry is going to end up dying to save his friends but not sure about the ressurection bit .. it's something to think about though.

I was suggesting a new career as a writer so that you could open a Christian theme park. I did not mean you to think I was being nasty, just wondered if you were any good at writing stories that others would want to buy to fund your project. Icon_hide
