Indeed so. On a camping trip to Scotland a few years ago we listened to CDs of all the Narnia stories. I've got quite a few of his Christian writings (although many have not been read for a few years now) and my wife has his science fiction trilogy. Reckoning the Narnia tales as one because we've got a compendium volume I've just counted up that we have 24 Lewis books on our shelves. |

Very good. The Screwtape letters have been put on CD narrated by John Cleese I'm told. I need to find a copy, they should be good. _________________ Preach the gospel at all times. If necessary use words. — St. Francis of Assisi |

Yes I am a big Lewis fan, though given that Sisyphus found me - or vice versa - on that Lewis site above mentioned this is not surprising ;). My favourite of all of his books is Till We Have FAces, his reworking of the myth of Cupid and Psyche, beautiful stuff. I find his apologetics a bit hit and miss at times - as an agnostic, ya know ;) - but generally a good basic introduction for non Christians. _________________ Europeforum, everyone welcome :) |

I will admit to having read non of Lewsis' books. I've seen the LWW film but that's it. I don't honestly think I could read the book though, it is just not my sort of read. _________________ ".... love thy neighbour as thyself." is the hardest thing I have ever done.... |

| I have read some of the Screwtape letters but did not finish it. I have never read the Narnia series although my kids have and loved them all. |

Sis, I understand what you mean about Lewis's fiction writing. It's not my first choice literature either. I would, though, encourage you to read Mere Christianity, The Problem of Pain, The Great Divorce or A Grief Observed as an introduction to his Christian apologetics. 'Grief' is less of an academic apolgetic than the other titles I mentioned but it is an intensely personal and honest account of nursing his wife in her dying days. If you care to pm me an address I am happy to lend you my copies.
If you're not a big Lewis fan, what on earth were you doing on that Lewis forum? |
