If you're not a big Lewis fan, what on earth were you doing on that Lewis forum? |
I honestly don't remember how I got there.

LOL I had to wonder that too. Mind, when I first joined that forum I had only read the Narnia books and that was it. That was back in the late 90s. Since then I've read most of Lewis's fiction and a large percentage of his apologetics. _________________ Europeforum, everyone welcome :) |

When the Screwtape letters became popular I read them, followed by Out of the Silent Planet.
I have now read most of Lewis and have liked most that I have read. _________________ The effectiveness of a posting is inversely proportional to its length.

That Hideous Strength is my favourite of the Space Trilogy. Has anyone read the Dark Tower, the fragment of a novel that was meant to be part of the Trilogy? (and whose authorship has been questioned). _________________ Europeforum, everyone welcome :) |

That Hideous Strength seems to be oput of step with the other two books IMHO
I found the Dark Tower different to most of Lewis's other works. _________________ The effectiveness of a posting is inversely proportional to its length.

Have you read - or are you familiar with - KAtherine Lindskoog's book 'the CS Lewis hoax'? She alleges that the DT was not written by Lewis but was a forgery by Walter Hooper. I've not read her book but she used (before her death, naturally) to post on that Lewis forum above. I always disagreed that the DT was not 'Lewisian.' There were several parts of it that resonated with me as being similar to That Hideous Strength. _________________ Europeforum, everyone welcome :) |
