' Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? - unless indeed you are disqualified. But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified.'
What is Paul saying to the Corinthians? What does disqualified mean?

It appears that Paul is asking the members of the church of Corinth to test their salvation. It is all part of the Church's (as a whole) teaching that faith without works is dead. Good works are part of our faith - and thus our response - to God's unlimited and free Grace.
Disqualified I would assume is disqualified from Salvation. As you can see from KtF's link, the word is translated differently for different Bible versions. Which translation are you using? _________________ ICXC NIKA! |
