Just a thought, Scotland came nearer to independance the nearest it's ever come, whether or not it will happen eventualy who knows.
i know of some Christian people who said many years ago that England would not be one of the major players in the 10 confederate Kingdoms (Daniels Prophecy the 10 toes)
The one draw back was Scotland, they had never been governed or taken over by Rome and the 10 Kingdoms will have to at one time been under the Roman Empire......
It got me thinking of the people way back who mentioned this possabilty before England could take it's stand in the EU |

I don't know about that KTF..but I do know that it seems Scotland has come to the end of it's love affair with the Labour party.
I think devolution will follow.

The reason that Labour have given Scotland it's own assembly is simple it is because they do not want devolution. The reason is that until yesterday there was a large labour vote in Scotland.
I was taught in a politics class that if devolution happened then Labour might become the third party in England. |

So how does that relate to Daniel's prophecy? _________________ ICXC NIKA! |

England needs Scotland - so we can cheer Andy Murray, & keep Britain great;
but we don't need Gordon Brown. _________________ May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will ... (Hebrews 13:20-21) |

I don't think Scottish independence or whatever has anything at all to do with Daniel, nor Revelation, as prophecy. _________________ May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will ... I think both myself and Cove have debated in the past. It's on one of the locked threads in the Bible + Doctrine thread (the one on idoltary I think). It depends what's being debated at the time.
As for your thoughts being lost on me: perhaps, but you could always try. _________________ ICXC NIKA! |

Even without Scotland, the United Kingdom would still include Northern Ireland and Wales, which (correct me someone if I'm mistaken) did not form part of the Roman Empire or fall under Roman rule, either, and there seems little likelihood of their gaining independence from the UK. Moreover, as well as the problem of there being many more than ten states in the EU, I cannot recall offhand whether as many as ten of them did form part of the Roman Empire anyway - most of present-day Portugal, Spain, France, England, Italy and Greece certainly did (whereas one of the EU's most powerful states, Germany, did not), but that's only six.
I don't subscribe to the revived Roman Empire theory with regard to Daniel's prophecy myself. The number ten is more likely to have been determined by the simple, prosaic fact of the number of toes on the statue (of a human being) and rather than their pointing to ten literal kingdoms, they are more likely, in my understanding of the text in question, to represent the disparate successor states of the last great prophesied empire, which would appear in one form or another throughout the rest of history until Christ's return puts an end to all politico-military-religious systems which oppose God's people. This is also how I would understand the first of the two beasts in Revelation ch.13, which for John clearly represented the persecuting Roman Empire of his day, but which in its essentials can be seen in different forms and expressions throughout history to our day and beyond. _________________ "For with Thee is the fountain of life;

If Andy was at the football match, or even watching it, he's much more enthusiastic about football than me _________________ May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will ...
