That article is long gone.
From today's items:
| Quote: | DOZENS of Israeli tanks smashed into the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, leaving eight terrorists dead and many more wounded.
Sixty people were seized in house-to-house raids and taken off for questioning.
Israel said the operation was to destroy the terrorist infrastructure. But Palestinian officials claimed it was an attempt to sabotage the following day's peace talks.
The Israeli tanks pushed a mile into the southern part of the Strip, blasting a multi-storey building.
A shell slammed into a group of Islamic Jihad terrorists, killing three, while missiles fired from an Israeli plane killed two gunmen. The victims were left lying in rubble - including one man whose body was torn in half.
But an Israeli tank was smouldering after it was hit by a Palestinian grenade. Four soldiers inside were slightly wounded and evacuated to Soroka hospital in Beersheba for treatment.
Terrorists carrying land mines and other weapons dodged among houses and manoeuvred behind the tanks to fire at troops.
Others took cover behind trees, or covered themselves in leaves to camouflage themselves. The operation focused on an area that is a main launching ground for rocket and mortar assaults on army bases and the Israeli-controlled Sufa crossing into Gaza.
Hamas said at least 30 tanks and bulldozers tore through their territory, between the towns of Khan Younis and Rafah.
It was the widest operation in the territory since Islamic Hamas wrested control of the Gaza Strip in June.
Nabil Abu Rdeneh, a spokesman for Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas, called for the international community to intervene to end the Israeli incursion.
"The Israeli policy of escalation aims to sabotage and place obstacles before the negotiations even before they get started," he said. |

The report continues:
| Quote: | | In an IDF airstrike on Thursday night, three terrorists involved in rocket attacks on Jewish communities were killed. The successful strike took place in the Zeitun neighborhood of Gaza City. Several other terrorists were reportedly wounded critically as well. |
Presumably the successful Israel air strike was in retaliation for a not very successful Palestinian attack. I cannot defend the Palestinians for their rocket attacks, but nor can I defend the Israelis for their use of overwhelming military & air power to besiege, imprison, and slaughter desperate Palestinians whose land they have taken.
