Pictures of Burrington Coombe. This is where Rev Toplady wrote the hymn Rock of Ages when he was vicar of the village of Burrington on the edge of the Mendip Hills. Cheddar Gorge is a much deeper version of this combe on the other side of the hills.

The first picture is the cleft in the rock into which he went during a rain storm which inspired the hymn.
