Well, anyone else finished it? Anyone else even started it? :) I was there at midnight to get my copy of Friday and devoured it over night and all of Saturday .. kept forcing myself to stop for a bit to prolong the pleasure. Brilliant, brilliant book, the best of the series! Anyone up for discussing it? _________________ Europeforum, everyone welcome :) |

I am in the process of reading it.
I don't think it is one of her best, too much irrelevant material.
I have to make myself keep going so I know how she ends it. I could very easily drop it and not bother anymore. _________________ The effectiveness of a posting is inversely proportional to its length.

Take no notice of him, Moose (if you've recovered from the shock). Most of the reviews I've seen say it's the best yet. I've only read one chapter so far, cos I've got rather a lot of other things on my mind & when I start it properly i know I won't be able to put it down. We bought 2 copies of the last one she did & took both copies on holiday with us a few days later. We'd both devoured them within 24 hours (uncluding sleep time).
I think JKR is BRILLIANT! much better than the books we had to read when I was a kid.

PS I think you and I must have similar tastes. I think it was you who said you enjoyed CS Lewis' 'Till we have faces'. I loved it as well (Cupid & Psyche was one of my favourite bits of Latin literature when I was a student) |

Rowling is like the pleasure of banging one's head against a wall , the joy of stopping.
R.M Ballantyne was one of my favourite authors when I was young. But I suppose JKR compare with some of the other writers. _________________ The effectiveness of a posting is inversely proportional to its length.
