We must all know odd bits of trivia that may be interesting to others.
How about a trivia thread as a game? The first one is below. _________________ ".... love thy neighbour as thyself." is the hardest thing I have ever done.... |

It comes from the American school timetabler wanting to know what subjects are still needing to be included once arithmetic, algebra, geometry and their assorted brethren have been slotted into place.
Actually it has an agricultural derivation since it refers to the second mowing of a field that has already been mown or cropped earlier in the year. In Old English a moeth is a mowing.
What is autobiographically significant about Homer Simpson's hair? |

Nearly there. In old English the word for harvesting true meadow land (not much about now) was math. Once the meadow had been harvested, the meadow had to be cropped right down so the wild flowers and herbs etc could stand a chance against the stronger plants and grasses. To crop the meadow down to stubble, sheep were turned out and they got the after math..... _________________ ".... love thy neighbour as thyself." is the hardest thing I have ever done.... |

Homer Simpson's hairs are in the shape of the letters M and G which are the initials of his creator Matt Groening.
Now how about popping over to the quotes thread? |
